Child Advocacy

As a provider of pediatric healthcare to children throughout South Texas, Driscoll Children's Hospital works hard to make sure the needs and concerns of children are heard by local, state, and federal public policy makers.

The goal of our Government Relations/Advocacy department is to build and maintain strong support for children's issues by supporting laws and policy that are good for kids. The Government Relations/Advocacy department is also responsible for:
  • serving as a resource for policy makers by providing information on the unique nature of pediatric healthcare
  • representing DCH in organizations that promote the health and wellness of children
  • mobilizing staff and the community to act on issues affecting pediatric healthcare through grassroots advocacy efforts
  • hosting the DCH Mini-Internship program designed to give community leaders a firsthand look at pediatric healthcare and to cultivate ambassadors for DCH.
