Our leadership team reflects the various specialties, backgrounds and cultures that make the Driscoll Children’s Hospital Residency Program unique.

Mary Huckabee
MD, FAAP

Dr. Huckabee received her medical degree from University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She completed her residency at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. She is board certified in Pediatric Hospital Medicine and is Medical Director for PHM at Driscoll.
Dr. Huckabee has a passion for education of both residents and medical students. She has significant experience in curriculum development, simulation training, and residents as teachers programs. Outside of work, she is a board member for a local cat rescue and enjoys cooking/baking, birdwatching and spending time with her family.

Audrey Parmar

Dr. Parmar received her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. She completed her Pediatric Residency and Chief Residency at Driscoll Children's Hospital. She is a general Pediatrician at ABC Pediatrics. She is passionate about training future pediatricians and has a special interest in resident wellness and advocacy.
She enjoys spending time with her family, baking, and outdoor adventures with her children and husband.

Oluwafemi Ojo

Dr. Ojo obtained his medical degree from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. He also received a master’s degree in public health at the Harvard School of Public Health. He proceeded to complete his pediatric residency training at Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas after which he served as a chief resident. He is a board-certified pediatrician practicing in The Children’s Clinic in Corpus Christi. He has a great passion for quality improvement and patient safety processes.
His other interests include research and medical education. He loves to spend time with family and friends especially potlucks, watching TV shows, soccer, swimming and visiting amusement parks.

Frederick McCurdy

Dr. McCurdy was one of the first MD/PhD graduates from the University of Nebraska. He completed his pediatric training at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio and his Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship at the University of Minnesota. He is a retired USAF Colonel and has had a rather lengthy career (40+ years) in academic medicine rising to the academic rank of Professor with Tenure and has occupied academic positions that range from Clerkship Director to Department Chair of Pediatrics and Associate Dean for Faculty Development.
He has two passions: children with medical complexity and medical education. He serves these two passions by being the STAR Kids Medical Director for the Driscoll Health Plan while also being an active member of the Medical Education Team at Driscoll Children’s Hospital attending morning report as well as conducting teaching sessions for the medical students, residents, and the faculty. In his spare time, he enjoys walking the local beaches with his wife and, of course, spending time with grandkids and great grandkids.
