Insurance & Retirement Benefits
All full-time and part-time benefit-eligible employees (regularly scheduled and working a minimum of 20 hours per week) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, life, disability and other voluntary benefits. All employees, regardless of status, are eligible to participate in the 403(b)-retirement plan.
Medical and dental benefits are effective on the first day of employment. All other insurance coverage is effective the first of the month following 30 days of continuous employment.
Health
Medical Insurance
Driscoll Health System provides four healthcare plans with affordable premiums. The healthcare plan allows you to best manage your medical, wellness, vision and prescription drug expenses with options available to enroll the family.
Dental Insurance
Preventative, Basic, Major and Orthodontia Coverage in an open-access network. Our plans are available to employees and family.
Vision Plan
Coverage includes a complete eye examination as well as frames, lenses and/or contact lenses.
AFLAC
As a complement to the core benefit programs, employees can enroll in additional coverage with AFLAC. There are four AFLAC insurance plans available: Cancer, Accident, Hospital Indemnity and Critical Care and Recovery.
Teladoc
Telemedicine program that gives employees 24/7/365 access to quality healthcare, available to all employees enrolled in a Driscoll Health System healthcare plan. Company-paid consultation fee.
Employee Wellness
Wellness program with a rewards component available to all employees and their eligible dependents enrolled in a Driscoll Health System healthcare plan.
Employee Care Center
High-quality healthcare is available to all Driscoll employees, their spouses and adult (18+) dependents enrolled in a Driscoll Health System healthcare plan.

Life & Disability Insurance
Basic Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D)
One-time base annual salary provided by Driscoll Children’s Hospital.
Supplemental Life & AD&D
Opportunity to purchase up to six additional levels of life insurance coverage.
Dependent Life
Spouse and children coverage is available with a choice of term and universal life options.
Short-term Disability
Income benefits begin after 14 days of disability resulting from a non-occupational illness or injury.
Long-term Disability
Income benefits begin after 90 days of disability resulting from an illness or injury.
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) & Health Savings Accounts (HSA)
HealthCare
Allows participant's pre-tax deductions to be used for eligible medical expenses such as deductibles, co-pay, legal drugs, eyeglasses/contact lenses, etc. for employees and any dependents.
Dependent Care
Allows participants pre-tax deductions to provide reimbursement for expenses paid towards day care for dependent children age 12 and under or for incapacitated dependents age 13 or over.
Limited Purpose HealthCare FSA
Allows High Deductible Health Plan participants to use pre-tax dollars to pay for qualified dental and vision expenses.
Health Savings Account Program
A tax-advantaged savings account is available to qualified employees enrolled in the High Deductible Health Plan. Allows participants to pay for eligible medical expenses, such as deductibles, copays and prescription drugs.
Additional Benefits
Adoption Assistance
Driscoll provides financial assistance to eligible employees, up to $3,000 reimbursement for qualified adoption expenses. This benefit is eligible to employees after one year of employment.
Prepaid Legal Services
Driscoll Health System partners with MetLaw to provide legal services at a group rate paid through the convenience of automatic payroll deductions.
Tuition Reimbursement
Driscoll encourages its employees to further their development and effectiveness on the job and offers employees the opportunity to gain further knowledge and skills to contribute to their self-development and growth.
Extended Illness Bank (EIB)
Never worry about having the time to spend on what matters. The EIB provides income protection for extended periods of personal illness and/or injury. (Ask about details and requirements.)
Corporate & Carousel Gift Shop Discounts
Employees receive discounts from several hospital partners, including our on-site Carousel Gift Shop (eligible payroll deductions).
Children’s Learning Center On-site Childcare
Driscoll provides an on-site, high-quality childcare center for our employees. This nationally accredited center is open Monday through Friday with hours to meet rotating schedules.
Retirement Savings Programs
403(b) Plan
Salary reduction contributions to the plan can be pre-taxed or after-tax (Roth) and are made through the convenience of automatic payroll deductions.
Employer Matching Retirement Plan
403(b) contributions are employer-matched up to the first 5 percent of your compensation. Matching is on a graduated schedule from 50% up to 100% matching depending on years of service. Full vesting occurs after five years.
Driscoll Retirement Plan
Driscoll makes a generous annual contribution to the plan based on the employee’s gross annual salary. Full vesting occurs after five years.
