Do you love to connect through play? Volunteers here interact with patients, siblings and families in the play area and at the bedside, providing opportunities for developmentally appropriate play and socialization. Mature, enthusiastic, caring and reliable volunteers need to demonstrate initiative, independence and problem-solving skills. Helping newborns develop can sometimes be as simple as a good snuggle. Cuddle Club volunteers provide the critical, human service of holding, rocking and comforting infants in the neonatal areas. You might also read or play music to interact with these precious, tiny patients.
Foster literacy and share your love of reading through book distribution. Along with sharing books in the hospital, volunteers will also sort and clean books prior to distribution via our library book cart.

Promote learning in a Corpus Christi Independent School District classroom right here on hospital grounds. Former or student teachers will aid the teacher as they help keep hospitalized children on target scholastically during their illness.
Care for patient families as they wait for surgery to be completed. These welcoming volunteers act as liaisons between families and medical staff, offering updates as they come in, bringing families to consultation rooms and more. Volunteers also provide fresh coffee and fruit, distractions for the siblings and assistance with directions.
There’s something to celebrate every day, even if you’re a child in the hospital. As a Toy Room volunteer, you’ll help make sure that every admitted child and every child celebrating a birthday receives a new toy as they round the hospital.
Want to help create the first impression of the hospital? At the Welcome Center, volunteers greet each visitor warmly, create a welcoming atmosphere at the main entrance of the hospital and provide directional assistance for our guests. This area is foundational for the Driscoll Way customer service.
