Driscoll patients explore new playground thanks to Kiewit support

On Thursday, February 6, patients at Driscoll Children's Hospital stepped onto their new playground for the first time, marking the completion of a state-of-the-art space designed to support both play and recovery.

The Driscoll Children’s Hospital Kiewit Outdoor Play Area was made possible by a $250,000 donation from Kiewit, creating a safe, engaging environment for children undergoing medical treatment.

Kiewit also contributed an additional $250,000 to expand Driscoll’s mental health services in San Patricio County. This funding will support the hiring of a full-time mental health specialist to assist local students.

Following the check presentation, patients explored the new playground along with news media, and Driscoll staff gathered to enjoy food and refreshments with Kiewit employees and leadership.
