An echocardiogram (echo) is a graphic outline of the heart's movement. During an echo test, ultrasound (high-frequency sound waves) from a hand-held wand will provide pictures of the heart's valves and chambers. Our trained sonographers will evaluate the pumping action of the heart to determine if there are any issues. Our Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) accredited echocardiography program provides support in the catheterization labs, intensive care units, operating rooms and multiple outpatient clinics for transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography.
The Heart Center echo sonographers are highly trained to perform imaging services on pregnant mothers, premature babies, newborns and children. With years of specialized experience, our team can quickly recognize problems and abnormalities of the heart.
