Recently, one of Driscoll’s very own made Texas history.
Val LaMantia, a board member of Driscoll Children’s Hospital, was inducted into the Texas Women’s Hall of Fame.
Governor Greg Abbott and the Governor’s Commission for Women selected LaMantia and seven other women for their outstanding achievements and for changing the course of Texas history.
LaMantia is a McAllen entrepreneur and philanthropist who has been active in the business community of South Texas for more than 30 years. She is the managing partner of the beverage distribution company L&F Distributors and a supporter of Driscoll Children's Hospital.
“The Texas Women’s Hall of Fame recognizes and celebrates remarkable Texas women not only for their individual achievements but also for their contributions to building an even stronger Texas of tomorrow,” the governor said in a prepared statement. “I am honored to welcome these accomplished women as inductees. Nominated by their fellow Texans, they have exceled in business, community service, philanthropy, public service, science, sports, and more. What unites them is the difference they have made for others.”
