In the News: former patient donates lemonade stand money to Driscoll

While still recovering in the hospital, 13-year-old Luke Ortiz told his mom he wanted to donate his Lemonade Day earnings to Driscoll Children’s Hospital.

Luke had been admitted with pneumonia and spent four days under the care of Dr. Marshall Leland and RN Jasmine Robledo. After being discharged, Luke raised $500 through his lemonade stand and presented it to the hospital. He also served lemonade to staff and donated an additional $85 in tips. Both caregivers attended the check presentation to see Luke healthy and giving back.
