Interventional cardiology is a subspecialty of cardiology that deals specifically with the catheter-based treatment of heart diseases. Thanks to advancements in technology, procedures that were once major surgeries and high-risk for children can now be done with minimal incisions and faster recovery times. Our cardiac intervention service features two state of the art cardiac catheterization labs, with one being a hybrid lab suite that provides less invasive strategy by combining cardiac catheterization and surgical interventions in one procedure. We are able to perform life saving interventions and crucial diagnostic evaluations on premature infants through young adults. We participate in a multicenter quality improvement registry, the Congenital Cardiac Catheterization Project on Outcomes (C3PO) to improve patient outcomes and the quality of care that we provide for our patients with congenital heart disease.
The pediatric interventional cardiology team specializes in diagnostic evaluation and transcatheter treatment of a range of congenital heart problems. Always researching and seeking the newest technologies, our award-winning physicians are skilled in the latest minimally invasive cardiac procedures.
