Nutrition for All
The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) helps connect Texas families with support for proper nutrition. Learn more about the program and Driscoll’s WIC locations.
WIC Provides:
- Client-centered nutrition education stressing physical activity and obesity prevention
- Breastfeeding promotion, education, support and breast pumps
- Nutritious foods high in protein, iron, calcium and vitamins critical for proper growth
- Monthly food packages including fruits, vegetables, whole grains and more
- Nutritional options designed to grow with your child
- Referrals to healthcare and social services
Eligibility Guidelines
- If you are on Medicaid, TANF or SNAP, you meet the income eligibility guidelines for WIC.
- Even if you don’t qualify for these programs, you still may be eligible for WIC by meeting the income guidelines for your household.
- You must live in Texas. You do not have to be a U.S. citizen to be eligible.
- Your WIC appointment includes a visit with a nutrition expert to help determine your eligibility.

The Department of State Health Services (DSHS) estimates that there are more than 5,000 Nueces County residents who are eligible for, but not receiving WIC services. If you live in Nueces County and are pregnant, a new mother or have a child younger than 5 years of age, please consider a referral to Driscoll WIC.
