Salary & Benefits | 2025–2026
Residents are paid on a biweekly basis. Payroll is completed via direct deposit to the resident’s bank account. Salaries are competitive with other regional pediatric residency programs.

Annual Salaries
- PL-1 residents: $66,094
- PL-2 residents: $68,525
- PL-3 residents: $70,429
Health & Insurance
- Paid medical insurance for residents and their families

Time Off
- 20 days of paid time off (PTO) per year
- 5 days of paid sick leave per year
- Quarterly Professionalism Day Off
- Up to 3 CME days annually to attend or present at conferences
- 6 weeks paid maternity, paternity, and family leave
Financial & Educational Support
- Education Fund: $1,500 per year

- Wellness Stipend: $200 per year
- ABP Board Exam Reimbursement for passing on the first attempt

- Texas Medical Association (TMA)
- Texas Pediatric Society (TPS)
- Paid registration to the Driscoll Pediatric Conference, with opportunities to present scholarly activity
- $500 per resident for poster presentation

Loan Repayment Eligibility
As a non-profit institution, DCH residents may qualify for federal loan repayment programs during their residency.
